Blowgun Caliber
The caliber of a Blowgun is the diameter of the
inside of the barrel measured in hundredths of an inch.
When the barrel diameter is given in inches, the
abbreviation "cal" is used in place of "inches". A
rifle with a diameter of 0.22 inch is a .22 caliber.
The modern Blowgun is usually 40 caliber, 50
caliber or 62 caliber.
The 62 caliber Blowgun is usually referred to
as a large bore Blowgun.
Large bore Blowguns offer the user the greatest
potential velocity for the darts that it shoots. This is the choice of
the most serious Blowgun users.
